What Dates Are Most Likely To See Snow in New York City?

Late on February 6, 2026, Central Park reported 0.1" of snow. A minuscule amount to be sure, bit enough to the 30th time measurable snow fell on this date (going back to 1869), tied with February 3 as the dates with the greatest likelihood to see measurable snow.  (1/27 gave up the crown a number of years ago as it's now gone 11 years with no snowfall.)

However, this shouldn't be confused with the date to have had the most snow. That date is 12/26, which has seen 105.9", thanks to four snowstorms of 11" or more. (Snow has fallen on this date 25 times.)

Note: Jan. 23, which is the date of Central Park's biggest snowfall, ranks 7th, with 63.1".
