1972 (Wednesday)

After starting as rain, the first measurable snow of the winter, an inch, fell late in the morning.  

1980 (Saturday)

Two inches of snow fell in the wee hours of the morning.  This would be the month's only measurable snowfall. 

 

1988 (Tuesday)

Today was the fifteenth day in a row in which no high temperature was duplicated.  During these days the highs ranged from 21° to 59°. 

1993 (Tuesday)

Rainy and mild, with a high of 64°, tying the record for the date, and the mildest reading of the month.  1.42" of rain fell during the morning, with 0.63" falling in the sixty minutes between 7:48-8:48. 

2004 (Monday)

This was the fifteenth day in a row with temperatures that were well above average.  During this string of days the high averaged 50°, more typical of mid-March.  However, this period would be followed by a dramatic change in the jet stream, driving Arctic air into the Northeast, where it would stay entrenched for four weeks. 

2008 (Saturday)

Although evening rain showers amounted to just 0.06", this was the sixth year in a row in which precipitation fell on this date.  

2015 (Monday)

The temperature fell steadily, dropping from 49° shortly after midnight to 21° twenty-four hours later.  At the time this was the coldest reading of the winter.
